Training
Tourism Statistics Training and Clinic
We have been working on the development of tourism statistics since 1996 and have noticed that national and regional tourism administrations increasingly require the knowledge and know-how to measure and track the sector themselves. Consequently we have developed a tourism statistics training course specifically for these clients.
Our standard courses runs for a period of one week from our UK training centre in East Sussex. We also offer bespoke courses for shorter or longer periods. Our courses typically cover the following (although they can be adapted to suit individual delegates):
- Concepts, definitions and classifications of tourism statistics
- Visitor expenditure surveys
- Measuring international inbound tourism
- Measuring domestic tourism
- Tracking monthly accommodation utilisationt
- Tourism Satellite Account development
- Development of tourism statistics databases
- T-STATS
We incorporate a statistics clinic within the training schedule whereby we encourage you to bring your problems with you, such as the need to develop a visitor survey, or data that needs analysing; and we work through this together to provide you with the solution to take away with you.
Courses are for individuals or groups. For overseas (or long-distance UK) delegates we offer a selection of accommodation nearby.
